We head out to Frankfurt with alot of confidence on this trip. We form up & head out toward occupied Europe. Right away we are jumped by a ME-110! We take a couple of hits. Nothing serious. We manage to get in a couple of shots of our own on the next pass! He comes around one last time and we finally get him for a kill! We are then in luck all the way to the target. We are over the terget,but hit by a little flak, which throws off our aim & we miss!
We turn around then are met by a 110 looking for action! We are hit in the #3 engine, luckily no damage! The mid. upper gun is hit also & put out of action! He comes around again and the tail gunner gets a piece of him, as he limps off into the night. We again find luck on the way home & manage to land with little difficulty.
