It was worse coming back than going to the target. One 110 jumped us just before the target zone and got a few shots in before Sergeant Latimer got him. Bomb run on target and the results excellent. ME110s hit us in Zones 7 and 6 on the return, knocking out the rudder, tail guns and #1 engine. Managed to evade the pursuit and crossed the channel. Crew and airplane will be ready for next mission
