We head off for Stuttgart and the crew is ready for this one. We see a ME-110 and are hit, the port wing is hit, but no serious damage. He comes around and we take a couple of more hits. the Mid-Upper Gunner is hit! a light wound. We are clear again and approach the target area, we avoid the searchlights, but are hit by Flak anyway, we are almost through it and one lucky shot hits us and the Bomb sight is damaged. We miss the target. Our turn for home is met by another 110 and we engage! We take a couple of hits, nothing serious and the chin turret gunner gets a hit! damaging the 110! We are clear again and fly out towards home. One more 110 finds us and we each land a couple of hits, the port Aileron is hit. We are clear and manage to land safely.
